Welcome to Jaguar Bridges!
Here, we aim to reach "one jaguar and one community at a time".

Wildlife Conservation & Research
MONITORING JAGUAR & OTHER TERRESTRIAL FOREST WILDLIFE Research of wildlife in the Costa Rican neotropical rainforests is one of the most important ways to understand the structure and function of the incredible biodiversity of the tropics. We conduct baseline monitoring through partnerships using trail cameras to document jaguar and other wildlife species in different tropical forests. This provides important information on ecological trends and other changes to rainforest biota, which in turn can potentially impact community sustainability. |
Conservation Education & Partnerships
INSTILLING INTRINSIC BENEFITS OF RAINFOREST CONSERVATION Conservation education is a vital link to improving short and long term sustainability of rural communities that depend on healthy forest ecosystems including clean water and non-timber forest products. Through partnerships, we integrate our wildlife research methods and results into conservation education workshops, and we demonstrate the importance of rainforest conservation. We also provide educational materials and curricula to teachers and schools. |
Community Service &
Creation Care Outreach IMPROVING THE STANDARD OF LIVING IN RURAL VILLAGES Rural villages in the buffer zones of national parks and biological preserves are remote and often have substantial needs, due to geographic location and lack of economic development. The sustainability of these communities are intertwined with the health of the rainforest and wildlife. Community service projects such as water system improvement, installing pedestrian bridges, and church improvements help meet basic needs that may otherwise go unmet. Additionally, donations of school supplies, stuffed animals, shoes, and food address needs of children and families. |
